Tai Chi is an ancient Chinese martial art that has become meditation in motion with numerous acknowledged health benefits. This workshop takes a look at the foundational principles of Tai Chi such as proper body structure and grounding, and demonstrates how slow, mindful movements allow the entire body to work together while soothing the mind.
This workshop is all about the energy of intimacy - not just sexual intimacy. All energetic connections between humans will be explored - the good ones, the bad ones, and the neutral ones. Ideas for keeping one's energy grounded and cleansed from outside influences are given, as well as sharing the importance of those connections for all of humankind.
Classic Chinese Medicine wisdom states that increased flow - of both blood and life-sustaining chi - can help alleviate many discomforts within the body. This workshop takes a look at those theories, teaching many self-massages - for feet, knees, shoulders, wrists, and stomach, as well as a facial massage thought to stimulate better brain health. We will also discuss important acupressure points to help open energetic meridians and increase overall flow.
This workshop focuses on tips for improving overall brain health and discusses things that can impact our clarity of thinking. We will learn a short series of tai chi movements to help challenge our brain and build memory and discuss acupressure points to stimulate brain activity.
Traditionally held in the fall to align with seasonal influence, our Grief Release Workshop can be taught anytime there is a strong need.
This is NOT a grief support group; this Workshop will allow us to connect with our grief while giving us practical tools to help release the burden of the grief so many are carrying.
We explore philosophies from Classic Chinese Medicine around grief, we'll experience movement as a helpful tool, and we'll learn curated acupressure points to help us release the grief we're carrying.
This workshop looks at what our proprioceptive and vestibular systems are, and how they impact the body’s sense of balance; we also discuss balance from a physical standpoint. Tai chi movements are shown as a low-impact way to build overall strength and balance.
In this workshop, attendees explore short and easy to learn movement sequences from Classic Chinese Medicine and their accompanying meditations, each used for millennia to help manage stressful situations and bring added balance to daily life. Healing Sounds and specific acupressure points for relieving anxiety, overthinking, and more are shared.
This workshop, hosted by Dr Lyle Wilson, takes a look into some common conditions plaguing many men – enlarged prostates, erectile disfunction, and mental health. Specific movements, meditations, and acupressure points to help rebalance these issues are discussed.
This workshop is about both the physical components of the major joints of the body, and sharing ways to both strengthen and loosen the joints for increased flexibility and mobility. The role of the Wood and Earth elements and associated energetic principles in how they impact the sinews and muscles of the body are discussed.
This workshop introduces attendees to their basic energetic anatomy from a Classic Chinese Medicine standpoint. We learn about our three dan tians and the energy contained in each, discuss how energy moves around the body in meridians and channels correlating to each organ, and explore ways to heighten sensitivity in sensing that energy in ourselves and others.
*This workshop is primarily seated, with a power-point presentation given.
This workshop explores both medical qigong energetic principles for removing toxic chi as well as ways to support the physical body in detoxing. Toxins on the physical and energetic level are defined, and suggestions for keeping one’s energetic and physical detox pathways open are given.
We explore the foundations of tai chi - grounding through body positioning and proper chi flow - along with several standing and moving meditations based upon these principles. Attendees will learn to find the paradox of movement in stillness, and of stillness in movement.
The Yin-Yang symbol is all about balance, and balance is exactly what you'll take away from this workshop! We explore the meaning behind the symbol and learn how to "draw" the Yin-Yang symbol with various parts of the body. We see how drawing the diagrams can increase strength and flexibility in all the joints and loosen stiff muscles, providing better stability and balance in the entire body.
